Tony Sparber (Anthony Douglass Sparber) was born March 3, 1956 in New York City, New York. He is a Jewish-American weight loss camp Owner/Director and weight loss expert who is also known as the “King of Fat Camp." Today, Sparber has become best known for his work with kids and teens in his world renowned weight loss camps – Camp Pocono Trails in Reeders, PA and Camp Vanguard in Haines City, FL. His time and effort in the weight loss industry have helped thousands of children lose weight, and has been acknowledged by notable celebrities like Montell Williams, Queen Latifah, Dr. Phil, and Ruby Gettinger.
Tony Sparber has also been recognized in a number of books for his work with overweight youth, as well as his expertise in running accredited camps. The American Camp Association featured Sparber in their 1992 edition of their "Guide to Accredited Camps." "Weight Loss Confidential: How Teens Lose Weight and Keep It Off and What They Wish Parents Knew" is another book that has published Sparber's guidance. In the book, Tony describes Camp Pocono Trails as a place where kids can go to focus on their weight loss, gain self-esteem, and have fun without the pressures and stresses of other environments..
Other publications, like Childhood Obesity In America and Boys' Life, have helped share Tony's idea of creating weight loss camps that take less drastic measures and instead base weight loss on eating right, exercising, and having fun.
Sparber resides in Norwood, New Jersey with his family.
